This may happen due to incorrect registry value type for Recent

Click Start, Run and type Regedit.exe

HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurentVersion \ Explorer \ User Shell Folders



The Value type must be of REG_EXPAND_SZ type.

Check for Disk Errors in Windows XP (0)

To check for file system errors and bad sectors on your hard disk, follow these steps:

1.

Double-click My Computer, and then right-click the local disk that you want to check.

2.

Click Properties, and then click Tools.

3.

Under Error-checking, click Check Now.

4.

Under Check disk options, select the Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors check box.

5.

Click Start.

Display Hibernate on Shutdown (0)

Hibernate isn't available from the default Shut Down dialog. But you can enable it easily,

by holding down the
SHIFT key while the dialog is visible.

Logging in as an Administrator (0)

Hold the
Ctrl-Alt key and press Del twice.

This will bring up the normal login and you can log
on as Administrator
